Pass it on to the cats who ask 'Why do folks still use BloggDevil's Advocate: 5 Reasons Why You Should Use Blogger Instead Of WordPress | BloggingPro

Devil's Advocate: 5 Reasons Why You Should Use Blogger Instead Of WordPress | BloggingPro

Since all Five reasons are why I still haven't used WordPress (I have a Wordpress account too btw so that's not it...) I thought I would put this up. I get this question FREQUENTLY myself. It is INDEED where I started at but I've looked into the other options. So far, nothing has moved to the point that I want to move and much like everything other 'fad' in Life, I don't 'move' just 'cause everyone else does. In addition, my main goal is for you to get what I post in some format. As long as you get to read my words when I do write them, I am GOOD. I also don't think my theme looks too bad. (Or any of the past themes I choice..@ the Facebook one before Facebook REALLY TOOK OFF, THE ORIGINAL BLACKBERRY THEME I HAD.... etc, etc..) Anyway...take a look at the reason.

Despite the power and popularity of WordPress amongst the blogging elite (at least upon the Techmeme Leaderboard), Blogger still remains the dominant blogging platform in the world, with the glorious WP coming in at a distant second.
Some in the WordPress faith may wonder why anyone would consider using Blogger, especially since WordPress boasts thousands (or is it tens of thousands?) of plugins, themes and developers–not to mention awesome smartphone apps upon the iPhone, Blackberry and Google’s very own Android OS.
However upon closer examination, BlogSpot fans may not be as “delusional” as some geeks may think for choosing Google over Automattic, as there are at least 5 major advantages of using Blogger instead of WordPress–both WP.com and WP.org.

1) Problogging On Your Domain
No matter how you slice it or dice it, Blogger is just far cheaper when it comes to blogging underneath your custom domain.
Backed by the mighty Google, Blogger is free when it comes to hooking up your domain. WordPress charges you $10 per domain (and that is on top of what you pay for registering your domain elsewhere).
While this may seem like a small price to pay, the bill can add up quickly if you own 5 or 6 domains.

2) Image Hosting
When it comes to default image hosting, WordPress beats Blogger 3 times over (as the former offers 3 gigabytes of default space vs Google’s 1 gigabyte).
However when it comes to upgrading to the next level on both accounts, Blogger destroy’s WordPress by offering users 20 GB of space for $5/year while WP.com offers users 5GB of space for about $20/year (note: the options become worse for us WP fans the higher up we go).

3) Video Hosting
If image hosting wasn’t bad enough, the video options alone will make one weep when you consider that WordPress charges users $60/year to use VideoPress–a fee that does not include any extra space.
BlogSpot fans on the other hand are offered video uploading for free (thanks to Google Video), with no limits on space.
4) Themes: Free for thee, but not for me?!
Despite Blogger’s popularity, WordPress (to my knowledge) still has more custom themes than its Google rival. However a new trend that I am noticing is that many premium WordPress themes are available for FREE (or very cheap) on Blogger.
One example (out of many) would be a premium WordPress theme called Church is available for $60 for WP fans. BlogSpot lovers however can get the same exact theme for free.
In fact there are many sites out there (like WordPress To Blogger) that convert premium WordPress themes to Blogger for free or very inexpensive prices (note: I am not sure how legal these businesses are, but thus far they seem to have faced little action against the original creators).
5) Security
This last point is probably debatable, but lets just face the facts: Google has one of the most secure platforms in the world.
Although WordPress.com and many hosting companies (such as Media Temple, Host Monster and GoDaddy) provide excellent security for their customers, the fact that Google can take on foreign hackers from semi-hostile nations speaks volumes about how tough their defenses are.
So is Blogger better than WordPress?
Answer: That depends on who you ask. ;-)

(Words) Screenshots and the definition/usage of the term 'thirst'...

Pretty sure you have seen these if you are on the Internet. For some of you, this is ABSOLUTELY a foreign concept for you until you got an iPhone and thus you think this is a 'new' thing. I believe there is a site dedicated to it at this point but don't quote me.  It isn't new though trust me. If you have been around on the Internet and been in ANY TYPE OF FORUM, the 'screenshot' has been been providing fodder for outing folks since it was invented. I've seen it spark off all types of shit. Folks addresses. Phone numbers. Nudes while camming. You name it. Again, I know some of you have your 'heroes' that will tell you they 'invented' it. No. Trust me. They didn't. Just want to be clear of that.

So I HIGHLY SUGGEST that you do not underestimate who you are talking to when it comes to 'speaking on the Internet'. Folks aren't SHIT OUT HERE in these Internet streets. Folks take it REALLY FAR for that "LOL" or to prove a point.

As you can SEE, IT ISN'T JUST AN 'IPHONE' THING. That is a Android in the first shot but like I said it isn't just a 'phone' thing either.. It is VERY easy to do from a computer/laptop. This was done by YOURS TRULY in response to some mud flung my way. Naw...I don't fuck around. Sorry in advance.

Exhibit A...
 http://thewarehous.blogspot.com/2012/01/words-how-not-to-be-boyfriendmanwhateve.html

You thought I was going to tell you not to screen shot, DIDN'T YOU? Admit it... Nope. I did it. I can't tell you not to. I can tell you to do it responsibly but that's really about it. Understand that you aren't the only one who can do it is all and DEFINITELY don't think you and your lil 'crew' have the 'patent' on it. You don't. My crew doesn't either but I can DEFINITELY tell you we know HOW TO GET IT DONE. Trust me. So no....just a 'be careful out here' for some of you (fellas especially but everyone..). Folks will 'screen shot you in the name of slander and think nothing of it. What I want to talk about is this...

...the 'definition of thirst..' according to you folks out here.

Make no mistake about it. The top screen caps are DEFINITIVE examples of what I would consider 'thirst'.(If I HAVE to use that word)

The problem for me with ya'lls use of the word is that I've seen it thrown around in SO MANY CONTEXTS that at this point the definition is about as clear as mud. ANY INTEREST in a person is seen as thirst and once again, in the most niggerish of ways, you guys have managed to malign a perfectly good saying. It HAS A PLACE!  Again, the examples up top the EXTREME and I would agree that they ARE thirst but some of the other stuff you guys are out here calling thirst? No. Here's an example:

"She looks good and she seems like a cool chick..."

THAT IS NOT THIRST FOLKS. Another one....

"I think he is a great Dad and a good looking dude..... "

Not thirst. But yet you dusty ass negroes START APPLYING THE WORD Just 'cause you LIKE THE PERSON the compliments are directed to DOESN'T MAKE THE PERSON GIVING THEM THIRSTY. Ya'll have to stop calling every thing (or the amount of 'comments') thirst. Get a set of nuts/ovaries and go on ahead and holler at your 'secret' boo and stop getting mad at those who are passing compliments to 'em. I won't use the 'h' word as I don't like to throw that overused shit around either but you sound type bitter out here getting 'excited' to point out a person's 'thirst'.

Not everybody is an introverted 'lil kid' inside fam. Some folks EXPRESS their feelings without fear. Get over your insecurities and let folks live out here. 'Cause that is where all this shit is coming from. I know it. Your own little fears and whatnot. I'm seeing a lot of you 'like minded' mental midgets getting together and 'chuckling it up' about your little insecurities out here and trying to make 'normal' folks feel bad about expressing themselves with your little 'slander'. smh. Confused motherfuckers. Cut that shit out you mental midget, stop writing on your blog/Facebook status updating/Tweeting/whispering to your lil 'e-friends' about 'him/her' and grow a pair...

"....But..but..I'm 'out the game' Mr. Blogger..." - You having someone....

GOOD! Even more of a reason for you to have a cup of this then...

I mean you can talk I suppose but you DO KNOW WHAT THAT MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE RIGHT? Someone who isn't 'happy being outta the game.." That's what.

Again folks, I'm not saying there is 'no thirst out here'. OH NO. There is THIRST ABOUND. I don't set that case of Powerade out on my TL for nothing. What I am saying is lets use a little discretion with the word and stop running that shit in the ground man. That's all. Ease up and stop getting ya'lls panties in a bunch because you didn't 'discover' the person who is getting the attention first/they are your little crush or whatever. Especially you dudes. Stop being catty outchea. For real. You niggas are out here being corny...*

*I have to say this RIGHT NOW. All of you IDIOTS out here thinking you 'invented the wheel' in regards to 'expressing yourself on the Internet via blog form' can KISS MY ENTIRE ASS. All of it. Every last crack. FUCK OUTTA HERE like you invented 'speaking your mind'. Nigga, I was 'speaking my mind' when you were a masturbation session away from being wasted sperm outchea... Fuck on Champ. (Drops the mic..)

(Technology) Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak on the iPhone: “I wish it did all the things my Android does”

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak may have waited in line for the release of new iPhones, but he says there are ways Android has leaped ahead of iPhone. In an interview with Dan Lyons for the Daily Beast comparing iPhones with Android phones, the Woz laments the limitations of Apple's smartphone."My primary phone is the iPhone," the Woz said. "I love the beauty of it. But I wish it did all the things my Android does, I really do."However, don't get the idea that Woz is getting ready to dump the iPhone. He said his main beef is with Siri, which he said no longer works as well as he would like."I used to ask Siri, 'What are the five biggest lakes in California?' and it would come back with the answer," he said. "Now it just misses. It gives me real estate listings. I used to ask, 'What are the prime numbers greater than 87?' and it would answer. Now instead of getting prime numbers, I get listings for prime rib, or prime real estate."He also said he prefers the GPS navigation on Android phones and he also takes issue with the battery life on the iPhone ("it just started running through the battery so fast").Despite those gripes, Woz says he still recommends the iPhone, especially for people who might be intimidated by Android's complexity."The people I recommend the iPhone 4S for are the ones who are already in the Mac world, because it's so compatible, and people who are just scared of computers altogether and don't want to use them. The iPhone is the least frightening thing. For that kind of person who is scared of complexity, well, here's a phone that is simple to use and does what you need it to do," he said.
